Paws For Behavior -

Puppy Parties

We are now enrolling for puppy parties. Puppies aged 8-12 weeks with their first vaccination and 12-16 week old puppies are welcome to enrol in our puppy socialisation groups. Our sessions are full of fun play time as well as key information to get you started with training as early as possible.

So come along and socialise your puppy with others in a safe, well managed, informative and playful environment!

Saturday Mornings
Puppies aged 8-12 Weeks @ 10am
Puppies aged 12-16 Weeks @ 11am

£10 per session

Between the age of 8 and 12 weeks is an important development stage for puppies. They should be meeting, greeting, playing, building confidence in different environments and dogs. However, due to vaccination procedures, this has to be put on hold until a week after their second injection. This usually puts your puppy past 10-11 weeks which does not leave you long to get socialisation in.

The centre is a clean, safe environment for you to come along and get some early learning in for both puppies and owners.

Within the sessions owners will learn about:

*puppy development
*puppy chewing
*puppy play behaviour
*normal and abnormal behaviour
*puppy and adult dog body language

Your puppy will learn:

*how to play appropriately
*bite inhibition
*socialisation skills in general
*environmental changes
*confidence skills
*basic training skills

1-2-1 Training

One to one dog training sessions are carried out in your home or in an environment where you think training is required. One to one’s are an alternative to dog training classes. Class environments may not be suitable for some dogs if they react around other dogs, or are showing signs of fear and anxiety.

The one to one sessions can focus on particular areas that need work such as recall and loose lead walking or basic obedience, life and social skills. If you are unsure whether classes are suitable for your dog, Abi can conduct an initial one to one to assess your dog's behaviour and training needs along with the suitability for a class.

Abi will identify your dog's body language and behaviour throughout the 1-2-1 training session which will enable you to understand and appreciate what dogs are communicating to us.

Training sessions can also be carried out whilst your dog is in daycare with us. They will have a one-hour session with Abi, a fully qualified trainer to learn new skills or work on skills that you wish your dog to get better at. This service also includes a hand-over session with every 4 sessions carried out within the daycare centre.
